How to Register in oDesk

So, have you decided to work as a freelancer on oDesk?  It’s now time to register for an account and I will be guiding you step by step in this process. It is actually very simple, all you need to do is fill up the needed details that are being asked. So lets get started!

Step 1

Just click the image below and the oDesk website will open in a new window.

Step 2

On the oDesk website click on “Create an Account”.

Step 3

You will then be directed to the next page that has 3 options for you to choose. Since this tutorial are for contractors, tick on the “Freelance contractor – I want to earn money as an independent contractor”.

Step 4

A form will appear. Just fill it out completely and accurately. Once you are done click “Continue”.

Make sure to remember your security question/answer since this will be asked almost every time you log in.

Step 5

You will then be directed to a page that looks like this:

listed in this page are instructions that you need to follow to activate you account. The first one is to verify email address. Go to you email and open the message from oDesk and click the link that they provided to activate your account.

Step 6

After verifying your email you will then be directed to number 2 to fill up your contact information.

Step 7

Next is for you to complete your oDesk profile. Just tick the box beside the categories  that you think matches your abilities. You are allowed up to 10 categories/

You will also need to choose a primary role, to set your desired hourly rate, availability, and a title for your profile.

Step 8

The last step is for you to accept the oDesk User Agreement.

Click “save and continue” then you are done!

Congratulations! You are now a registered oDesk provider. The next thing to do is to edit you provider profile. Make it look impressive to future employers.
